2017 RMG Exposed Jury
After completing his graduate studies at the University of Western Ontario in the fall of 2000, Wlasenko worked as Assistant Curator at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery (RMG) in Oshawa, Ontario. There he organized over twenty photography exhibitions featuring vintage prints that document the historical development of his hometown of Oshawa. Wlasenko has curated over 50 exhibitions, including Broken Promises: Soviet Photography in the Age of Stalin at the MacLaren Art Centre, Vera Jacyk: Chysto, Chysto, Chysto, Brendan Fernandes: Dada Afrika, Toni Latour: The Femme Project, Meryl McMaster: In Between Worlds and most recently Barry Ace: The Five Great Lakes. Olex has been the Curator at Whitby’s Station Gallery since mid-February 2008.
Katrina Jennifer Bedford is a lens based artist, educator and cultural advocate. Jennifer is Professor at Durham College and part of the full-time faculty teaching in the Photography, Video Production and Advanced Filmmaking programs. Before starting her career in higher education, Jennifer worked in the visual arts sector with notable not-for-profit organizations such as the Art Gallery of Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, Contemporary Art Forum Kitchener Area (CAFKA), Art Gallery of Burlington, and Oakville Galleries. Her work has been exhibited and screened in Canada and the United States and her photographs have been published in Azure magazine, Border Crossings, Canadian Art, C Magazine and in numerous Canadian exhibition catalogues.
